Happy New Year!

I like to wish Happy New Year to all of you readers who visit this site.

The Nivasa Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run organization. The organization has NO PAID STAFF and relies completely on our volunteers and the community for support. All of the support goes directly to providing financial assistance to enhance the education and welfare of children whose mothers were victims of human trafficking. As well as to provide education and awareness to communities and individuals worldwide through public speaking, press releases, newspapers, websites, and workshops to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking in an effort to put a stop to the ongoing cycle of slavery.

The Nivasa Foundation thanks you for your support and looks forward to achieving the goals for 2011 with your support.

Sri Lankan Maids harrassed for speaking to BBC

Sri Lankan housemaids say hundreds of them in a transit villa in the Sri Lankan embassy in Saudi Arabia had been harassed by embassy officials after complaining of their plight to the BBC.
